WELL. Ahem. That would make sense. But not much of what the athletic dept. does these days makes sense. Next weekend will be military appreciation night. At significant cost, UAA is renting the ice for the military game. One would think that it would be a double header, right? Last year 2000 plus fans attended the army / air force game. But like this year, it was at 2 pm. WHO is going to come to that game, go home for several hours, and get the kids back out again for the UAA game at 7? Well, based on the military who attended the UAA game last year, NOT MANY. And I don't blame them!! The military wanted to play the earlier time, but UAA is paying for the ice time, so why give them the option? You want the free ice? You play at 4 and it's a real double header. Hopefully some of the 2000 fans stick around for the second game. I am SO frustrated right now.

"According to NCAA, the (UAF) hockey team used ineligible players in every game played from the 2007-08 season to the 2010-11 season. Over that span, the wins and ties will all become losses. 4 wins and 2 ties came against rival UAA".

    UAF is 56-86-12 vs. UAA.

No one ever said the guys are geniuses. I suppose you could have moved game time up, but wow...

All it takes is common sense. Get the games off tv for starters! They say that GCI stats show that at the peak 250 TV sets were tuned into the hockey games last season. That does not mean 250 less people were at the game. How many people were in a living room or a bar watching that one television? You could be missing out on an attendance if 1000 or more!

Good Lord, no wonder college hockey can't get a decent TV deal.

Congrats. It was great to see UAA manage a split with you guys. I think they may have turned things around, hopefully it's not too late.
