Thanks for the video, turk. Big game at Colgate, let's get the win.

With all these posters on the game thread at midnight, are you guys up for a pizza?

          How was the pizza?

Just a reminder that in case you missed it on the other thread, tonight's game is on Time Warner Cable sports in the Capital District area. Western NY viewers unfortunately get Mercyhurst- RIT.

Does Colgate provide video for their games? I checked their site and see a video icon, but it is not active right now.
This is big weekend for the Engineers, not so much for the points, but they would like to go into the playoffs on a positive note.
I say not so much for the points, because even if they win both games, it may not mean anything in terms of league standings. But the wins would do a lot for the teams confidence.

All other ECAC games have finished. Wouldn't it be nice to know if a win is needed to earn a bye or if a tie would be sufficient? That would certainly influence whether to pull Kazzy near the end of the 5 minute period, wouldn't it? The upside is a bye, the downside is we might play a different opponent in the first round. To not be interested in other scores and tie-break scenarios is like saying ignorance is bliss. Isn't the Rensselaer motto Knowledge and Throroughness?

If only there were a site with archived statistics from 09-10 and 10-11 that would help answer your question...

Yes, free video at campusinsiders.com, unlike your travel partner and the Ivies.

That actually happened in your last regular season game in 2010-11. Even more odd, it was a scenario where it was win=4th, tie=5th, loss=6th. You guys pulled the goalie in OT and the game ended in a tie, finishing 5th and playing Colgate. We all know the rest of the story.

Very interesting thought. It seemed that SA was in a rather cross mood for much of the interview. I think the questions asked irked him a bit. But i am sure given the circumstances, he might say that the other scores mean nothing, but he just is not the kind of guy to miss something like that. For the Colgate game, the other scores do not really matter and i would think even if he does not specifically say it, he will know exactly where we stand at the latter part of the third period on Saturday against Cornell. Hopefully tonight we can put ourselves in a better position. I will probably miss most if not all of this game and will catch up by reading all the postings later. Go Red!!!

It was also my reaction that SA seemed rather perturbed in that interview.

With the way things have been going and the position in which we've been placed, I'd be surprised if he wasn't cross. The questions asked are ones that need to be asked (aside from maybe the scoreboard watching one; that's what assistants are for). Sure, the concept of being concerned about what we do on the ice is absolutely correct. I hope to personally witness execution of that concept tonight.

Yes, jericho, that means I won't be posting here during either game this weekend. For your celebration, I recommend Leinenkugel's Classic Amber.

I am not sure what he meant with his mention of Parker Reno. i suppose it is a game time decision. We most certainly need this game to be in the win column. Tomorrow is of course important for a lot of reasons but what we do today will influence how important tomorrow becomes. A bye is possible but I am not so sure that finishing 5th would be terrible or perhaps 6th. Anything lower adds a level of difficulty in the opponent played. As SA said, we really just have to do our job and not count on any help anywhere else.
