I'm beginning to think that having two goaltenders in the Top 10 must be a requirement.

As much as I hate to say it (for multiple reasons), I concur as well.

No way...ARD, Brandt, SAB. Those scoring stats out east are SO over inflated. Brandt would have double the points if she were on an eastern team.

Coyne and ARD. Coyne has one less point, one less game and many more goals but on a much less loaded team than Carpenter.

I'd give the advantage to ARD. There are always dominant forwards. ARD and the UW shut down artistry has been pretty outstanding.

Can I just say that ARD (and SAB!!) being in the Kaz 10 and Rossman not, with one fewer shutout than ARD has, is a traveshamockery, and if Rossman isn't worthy of consideration then ARD isn't worthy of winning it.

ARD's year was marginally better than Rossman's. There I said it.

For those unable to tell when I'm serious and when I'm joking, I will explicitly state here and now that that post was not tongue in cheek. I don't even have a dog in that fight and SAB getting into the 10 above Rossman is awful.

Chill. There are a number of things to consider here. First, it isn't like people are putting Amsley-Benzie's season next to Rossman's and saying, "Which is better?" It's 35 coaches voting from a long list of players. One is a four-year starter, and the other is starting for the first season, so one has more of a reputation and is a known quantity going into the season. It certainly doesn't hut SA-B that she made the top 10 last year. I don't know how much coaches look at academics at this stage, but I remember last year she was a 4.0 as a chem. eng. major. She had games that really grabbed attention, like shutting out UM and shutting out UW for an entire weekend. In all of her games against top teams, she played well, but sometimes her team just didn't score. Plus, nobody else from UND was going to get many votes. Rossman, OTOH, probably had some vote splitting going on with Cianfarano. The other thing is that Rossman's stats are similar to Laden's last year, so Q looks like a team where you can just plug in a goalie and go. There certainly are games where the biggest risk for a Bobcats goalie would be freezing to death.

I agree that Rossman, or someone from Q, should have made the list, but this doesn't rank as a travesty.

We'll have to agree to disagree I think. If they wanted to pick a great goalie from a non-tournament team there were better options.

                            Thank you for this...

Lines like "There certainly are games where the biggest risk for a Bobcats goalie would be freezing to death." and the "traveshamockery" reference make me smile.
At the outset, we could hang with the dude...
