  • Ohio State @ Windjammer Classic 11/28 - 11/29

Ohio State will travel to Burlington, VT for the Windjammer Classic next weekend. Ohio State will take on the host team, Vermont, Saturday 11/28 at 4:00 pm. Sunday 11/29, the Buckeyes will face Boston University at 1:00 pm. The Buckeyes have had a rough go of things lately as they have gone 1-5 in their last six games. This trip might be good for the Buckeyes as the games are not league games, not to mention Burlington is a really neat place to visit. Mrs 86 and I were up a few years back for IIHF Women's Worlds. Wish we were coming up for this. Gutterson Fieldhouse is a great place to see a hockey game. If any fans in the Burlington area are attending, please share with us here. Good luck to all teams and hopefully everyone comes out of this injury-free.

Heading there this weekend. Love Burlington. Great little city. Tons of stuff to do. Not the least of which is to sample a lot of craft brews. Great opportunity to catch up with some former teammates of my kids in action as well. Hoping it's not a madhouse with black Friday and thanksgiving. The only negative would be the Gut. Possibly some of the worst ice ever. Lol.

Ohio State's trip to Burlington for the Windjammer Classic got off to a good start as the Buckeyes defeated host team Vermont earlier today by a final score of 5-2. Ohio State's goals were scored by Kendall Curtis, Katie Matheny (2), Dani Sadek, and Lauren Spring. Vermont's goals were scored by Dayna Colang and Taylor Willard. The Catamounts outshot the Buckeyes 32-31, but the Buckeyes found the back of the net 5 times to Vermont's 2. Alex LaMere had 30 saves for Ohio State and Madison Litchfield had 26 saves for Vermont.

Ohio State's trip to Burlington ended today with a 5-3 loss to Boston University. The story of this game was special teams, and the Terriers were the better team today in that department. Both teams had four power play opportunities. Boston University scored on 3/4, and their penalty kill unit held the Buckeyes scoreless on their four power play opportunities. Ohio State's goals were scored by freshman forward Maddy Field, senior forward Julia McKinnon, and senior forward Kendall Curtis. BU's goals were scored by Kayla Tutino, Sarah Lefort, Victoria Bach (2), and Rebecca Leslie. Sophomore goaltender Alex LaMere had 22 saves and Boston goaltender Erin O'Neil had 26 saves for the Terriers. Ohio State outshot Boston 29-27. Ohio State is off next weekend and will return to action in the rugged WCHA with a home series vs Minnesota-Duluth on 12/11 and 12/12.
