They didn't lose back-to-back at Mariucci last season. At that stage, after a sweep in a home and home with UMD in Nov., the exhibition came at a time when team morale began to take a serious nosedive.

They'll play much different tonight compared to last Sat. I think we'll see some our top freshman settle into their game in this series.

I fully expect the Gophers to score a goal in this series. Write it down.

      Go Gophers!!

That's pretty bold. You're going to rue the day you prognosticated that one.

I'll match and raise you by one. Gophers score twice this weekend.

They lost two games in a row at home, though. Depends how you define back-to-back, in this case.

Defn: Conference or NC games happening one after another without interruption. Get it?

Are you making up a definition? Because if you were to say lose a Saturday night game at home, then you lose the next Friday night game at home, that is the definition of losing back to back at home. You lost two home games in a row. Nobody proclaimed a sweep, just losing back to back.

                  Exhibition games don't count.

My intent was consecutive games as per 2011. I suppose you can take it either way. I know this is very important to you Debbie.

We got beat. Soundly. Shierhorn was the only saving grace, from what I heard on the radio.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

No need to worry about differing definitions now. Gophers were outclassed. Forwards look pathetic overall except Kloos, and one player can't win games. Collins is scary as always. Missed the net a bunch as always. Probably single digit hard shots on net through two games.

The Gophers fought hard in the first period, but got into penalty trouble and gave the game away with 2 PP goals by UMD in the 2nd period in a 3-1 loss. With little consistent offense and only 24 SOG vs UMD's 36, the Gophers sputtered throughout the game with very few scoring chances. FR Brent Gates got the first goal of the season for the Gophers in the third period. A.J. Michealson and Jake Bischoff had point blank shots on net, but Kaskisuo seemed to handle well the few close shots launched by Gophers throughout the game. Schierhorn made some excellent saves on some clear scoring chances by UMD and kept the game close. But overall, UMD dominated the game from the puck drop with their speed and strong forecheck keeping the Gophers pinned in their own zone for much of the game. A second disappointing loss for the Gophers at home and not a good sign going forward into tomorrow nights game at Amsoil in Duluth.

So the Gophers were outshot, had little consistent offense, had few scoring chances, and were dominated by UMD - yet Minnesota "gave the game away"?

                              Ok, just checking.

We hung with them for a period or so. Then they took over. Simple as that.
