@Speed Kills: Doesn't take much to get you going and posting the same opinion you already posted in the thread you created about how awesome the Big Ten is. No respect, right? Haha. Anyways, no need for either of us to re-hash as it would only go around in circles. Cheers!

FTR, his acceptance into tArrogance is still under review. That last post, resorting to x > y for titles is doing him no favors.

Since the facts are so irrefutable I see no need to come up with a different opinion.
National championships won by Big Ten schools : 23 (Michigan 9, Wisconsin 6, Minnesota 5, Michigan State 3, Ohio State 0, Penn State 0, Notre Dame 0)
        National championships won by NCHC schools : 21 (North Dakota 8, Denver 8, MN-Duluth 3, Colorado College 2, St. Cloud State 0, Miami 0, NE-Omaha 0, Western Michigan 0)

Speaking of 'Speed Kills' Gopher recruit Casey Middlestadt had 6 points in Eden Prairie's 7-3 thrashing of Anoka this evening.

The teams that make up the Big Ten have won more combined national championships than the combined national championships of any other conference. That much is fact that cannot be disputed.

The NCHC has a handful of very good regular season teams, but let's be honest... only two of them have a tradition of winning NCAA championships and neither one of them has even been to the title game in over a decade. For as much as NCHC fans like to mouth off about how great they think their conference is, you'd think they'd have won the last two national championships or at least one... or at least maybe played in one. What an overrated/overhyped conference, sheesh!!! The NCHC, through the first two completed years of its existence, has yet to be represented in a national championship game.

            Big Ten > NCHC

PS - What does NCHC stand for... No Championship Hardware Coming? LOL!!!
Neither conference has a national championship since they started but if you want to you can look at how many teams from each conference made the tournament and then how many team made it to the frozen four.. And guess what the NCHC blows the Big10 out of the water. And yes it hurts to not have a national championship but especially in hockey with a one and done format anyone in the tourney can win but to say that it's overrated/overhyped is ridiculous.

All were golfing at the end.

If and when a team from that conference reaches the title game I will stop referring to it as overrated/overhyped. They don't even have to win it to earn my respect, just earn the opportunity to play in the national championship game. Till then I maintain my spot-on assessment that they're full of good regular season teams that simply can't get it done come tournament time.

Last Fall, one of his Fall league teammates from Duluth East took a picture of him at a team gathering doing what an estimated 78% of teens do at sometime (consuming beverages). The player held onto the pic until a few days before the tourney and sent the pic to the Grand Rapids Athletic Director. Epitome of sportsmanship.

Not that he isn't guilty, but it is amazing what a 15 yr old has to be aware of these days with all the cameras and social media around. One slip can cost you so much (Rapids doesn't seem to have a lot of talent coming up to replace the graduating seniors, so this might have been Blake's one shot at a state title.) Much different from 30 yrs ago when a kid could drink in peace knowing that there weren't any cameras around and you weren't committing to a school until you were 18 anyway.

But your amazing, awesome, ZOMG BEST FANBASE EVAR!!!11!!1! didn't even help us fill the X when 2012 when both teams were placed in the West Regional. For as well as your fans claim to travel and as many of them live in the Twin Cities, what's up with that?!

On paper the Gophers should have won big, but as we all know the games are not played on paper. Let's not lose sight of the fact that North Dakota was a bit down that year and was on the bubble to even make the tournament, much like the position the Gophers are in this year. I believe it was Wisconsin's OT victory over Ohio State in the Big Ten tournament that allowed them to sneak in the back door. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember the general consensus was that North Dakota would have been on the outside looking in had Ohio State defeated Wisconsin. Like many other low-seeded teams in recent memory, the 2013-14 North Dakota team managed to do well in the regional and earned a trip to the Frozen Four. On the night of that Frozen Four semifinal game it is safe to say the Gophers played down to the level of their competition and allowed an inferior opponent to keep it close till the very end. The score and the overall flow of the game was dead even for the first two periods. In the 3rd period I will admit that North Dakota seemed to be gaining momentum and may have had an edge going into OT, but to say that they dominated almost every facet of the game is just downright absurd. It was a very evenly matched game, and in the end the better team won.
Pretty accurate assessment Speed Kills. IIRC the Gophers were ranked #1 at the end of 2013-14 and were overwhelming favored to win that game. "Annihilated"?? Haha...

Congrats on being the third best team in the crappiest conference in D1 hockey.

And how have those same offenses performed in games outside of conference play? How are those same teams' defenses ranked? Hmm...
