Well... This is quite an unexpected roster.

I'm thinking someone somewhere complained about college players missing several games.

Also can I just say that the greatest thing ever is ALLIE THUNSTROM!!!!!!!!! making the roster!

Who do I have to bribe to get her and Stack on the same line?

Thunstrom is the whole reason I'm following this sport. This is season #10.

          Re: Four Nations

Very smart move by the smart team USA coach
send some B players to play in a meaningless tournament to get experience and play with the best players
meanwhile team canada will most likely send an A team after last year's very bad showing at Worlds
allow team canada to win this meaningless tournament...then unleash the A roster for Worlds 2016

or maybe some colleges wouldn't release players

in any case this is very smart

I can tell you BC definitely had its players available. We moved two games to accommodate the tournament. So, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

            Definitely not complaining

If the reasoning is it gives players who no longer have college eligibility remaining a chance to play some high-level games, then it makes sense, although that wouldn't explain why Coyne, Anderson, and Janiga are then on the roster. Who knows how it played out, but as most things are where USA Hockey is concerned, it appears to have been poorly communicated, given teams were trying to schedule around absences that didn't occur.

                  http://stats.hockeycanada.ca/roster/...951.1420757732

team canada women released the roster for the four nations cup

must say this team does not look promising at first glance with two very key veterans being omitted

Sarah Nurse made the team....good for her....much talent....(also she does not play for the cwhl and so actually has a chance to improve and develop)

Sarah Davis also made the team....good too.... surprisingly very effective at last year's worlds and will most likely be playing a sh*t disturber role again....very physical player
Rattray and Kelly Terry did not make the team...not surprised
Meghan Agosta made the team....very good....unfortunately wickenheiser did not... shocking...both will not play together

hope this is just the B team and not the "A" team that will be going to worlds

I dunno about that. The vets are now Agosta (28), Johnston (26), Wakefield (26) and Birchard (26). They will be 29-31 at the next Olympics in 2018. Now is the time to start building for that. Some of the Vets not making it were into their 30's, likely well past their prime for the next Olympics. Having said that would fully expect some of the goalie vets to be back in the mix for 2016 worlds.

34 year old veteran caroline ouellette was cut from the worlds roster last year before being brought back on last minute as a replacement for injured haley irwin....and in the gold medal game against USA ouellette was the best player for team canada....involved in almost all goals and totally outdueled team USA's promising young stars ...and to think ouellette was actually cut from the team...

in one instance 5"11 young star megan keller of team USA tried to check 5"11 ouellette off the puck with her body.....and the resulting "collision" was keller spinning off-balance on to the ice...with ouellette coming away victorious with puck....passed to team canada player...and scored....

Little Sluggish today. Not a good start for USA. They got better as the game went on. Tomorrow will be interesting. Not sure what to expect. Will we see both teams cranking it up from todays showing?
