  • St. Anselm to D-III thoughts

    Thoughts anyone?

They would have to give up their spot in the prestigious Open tournament at the end of the year that the D-II schools play in together currently but otherwise I think moving to D-III would be great for them and for the ECAC East. Their games within the conference would finally mean something. I'd like to see all the D-II schools out of that conference frankly. It's ridiculous to have them in a conference when their games are really more like non-conference games anyway.

Totally makes sense for them to be D3. The Open tournament is meaningless and their athletes would finally have the chance to play for a post-season title that means something. Coach Matthews has done an admirable job putting together a strong team - only imagine that it will be enhanced by the opportunity to participate in the post-season. And agree about the D1 (Holy Cross) and D2 teams in the ECAC-East - they should break off into their own league.
