Poor Season Thread 2. We hardly knew ye. Also, this post is quite accurate and didn't get nearly enough views imo. http://board.uscho.com/showthread.ph...=1#post6118296

That was a nice post.. i have to add (as much as I liked/ like him).. he wasn't the same his last gms @ NU. The night before the double OT.. he gave up a goal in OT he'd have routinely had.. same can be said for several gms toward season's end where he let a few slip by, which he himself would consider.. soft goals. Anyway, over the years he was consistent & least gave us a fighting chance. All the best to him & thanks.

He wasn't, and probably never will be, the Witt he was in the middle of last season. But I think people tend to only harp on the games he was bad down the stretch and ignore the games where he sets up the team to win and takes an L anyway. You look at last year, amidst all of the defensive lapses and 4 goal against games, he went into UNH Game 1 and allowed one goal on 34 shots in Lake Whitt to take a loss. This year in the elimination game he stops 47 of 48 over five periods before the season ending goal squeaks by. Sure, he wasn't always his best down the stretch, and if he regresses when he has to play twice a week that might spell a problem for his future as a professional goaltender. But he gave us chances to win and move on time and time again, and we couldn't put goals up in front of him. He had four career playoff losses, and two of them were in games he allowed a single goal in 60 minutes, while in a third he allowed two in regulation. If he gave up just one regulation goal in each of his 4 career playoff losses, he only would have won twice. If you up the GAA to a still fantastic 2.00, he only wins once. If you can't win more than half your games unless your goaltender pitches a shutout, the goaltender isn't the one who faltered.

So boring to hear you say the same thing over and over again. So funny that you guys think things will change with a new coach. How is it that they lose the same way ever year, the same BS happens every year. Different coach, different players, sanme results.

they are not a well conditioned team (just my observation from last wknd).. so I knew as much they would have problems with you guys.

Weird how BU can score 6 times on the best goalie of all time.

BU has way more offense than us. Still though, it comes and it goes and everyone knows that. Petersen gave up 5 goals tonight after taking 3 of 4 points against BU then posting big performances against BC and UMass, and I doubt the BC/BU threads are talking about how they must be so pitiful because they couldn't get pucks past him. NU couldn't beat him and it sucks, but there's no point in dwelling on it.

In other news, Clay Witt signed an ATO with the Flames. Forever connected to John Gillies. http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/2015/3/14/8213677/northeastern-goalie-clay-witt-signs-with-calgary-flames-organization
