It will come down to the TV contract and whether or not the Irish and NCHC can find a way to keep everybody happytUMD Hockey

Re: Weighing Realignment?
Wouldn't the NCHC want to add Notre Dame due to having the NBC Sports contract? NBC Sports is the premier channel for NHL TV, why not try and attract those eyeballs for conference games as well? Does anyone know when the CBS Sports contract is up? All I could find is "multi-year agreement".AF 99

The National title game had 700,000 viewers and that was on ESPN. How many people are going to watch a regular season game? 40k to 50k tops. Not enough people watch to make sponsors care. Just stop.

Fenton has been in contact with officials at CBS Sports this summer and multiple sources tell the Herald that CBS appears willing to alter, in some way, the exclusivity clause in the network's contract with the NCHC.Originally posted by SJHoveyPretty sure this post, made on January 3, 2016, when UNO was 14-3-1 and #2 in the pairwise, will go down in USCHO lore as The Curse of Tipsy McStagger.Originally posted by BrenthovenWe mourn for days after a loss, puff out our chests for a week or more after we win. Tipsy is correct in saying that WMU and Miami has additional sources of income through their other DI sports, unlike the DII schools in the conference. Then again, they also have some greater athletic department expenses as a result.
But Hockey is the dog that wags the tail at these two Universities

Re: Weighing Realignment?
There has been a lot of chatter on Twitter today via John Buccigross about the possibility of reforming the CCHA in some manner within the next few years. Certain Miami fans would balk at the idea but I'm not so sure that their administration would due to their travel costs; but the core members would likely be BG, Miami, and WMU. Other likely members would be Ferris, LSSU, possibly NMU, Robert Morris, Canisius, and Mercyhurst. Would ND be interested? Who knows? Perhaps if they can get past their egos. Geographically speaking, though, it would be a helluva lot more convenient for them.
