  • Tales from yesteryear - Hockey's Golden Years (or at least my college years)

It seems some, besides myself, have enjoyed the historical reading articles, I linked to, so without more ado and not to overly hijack other threads, here are some more.

I've posted articles relating to players who post to this forum (bakdraft21 - aka Peter Wasserman and Greatlaker11 - aka Brian Statfeld) so they can add some color.

If anyone else from any team or era would like to be step up and suggest potential articles, just make the suggestion and I'll see what I can find.

      Pete who?

Peter Wasserman got his first collegiate goal at 8:11 unassisted.

I see Mike Catuosco twice a week as we coach separate age groups for the same youth hockey organization. Also run into Matt Dickson, another LIer. Emailed Catuosco today as well, and lived with #12 Joe Albano my senior year, his junior year on Bridge Street with a few other non hockey players. We actually played on a line together for a long stint. Played in whats listed as 99 games during 84-88. Funny, no shortage of Oswego Minor Hockey people remembered me this year and last during my visit there for a youth hockey tournament. Pat Kelly was a Long Islander from that generation and there were a few others who came for one year. Anyway, back to being stealth and incognito.
