Looks like these pundits' favorites for the FF are DU, UND, BU and Harvard. The UND pick was unanimous, and the BU pick was nearly unanimous. Is UND's bracket that weak where everyone would pick them to advance, or is the power of playing in Fargo so overwhelming that none can stand up to it?

I know, the herd is way overboard with the Sioux right now. Something happened in the CHN bracket contest. Nobody is talking about how the Cloudies are in a groove. The one prediction that really jumped out at me is Adam W's BC pick. Where is that coming from? Jerry crush? Interesting that 5/8 picked Harvard coming out of the Mid-West. 5/8 also picking the Pios!

Since Harvard got all the injured back they have been extremely Hot. But Mankato will be hard to beat.Glad we don't start with them. If the sioux played like they did Sat., that region will be open for an upset. Cloudies.vs.Tech could be the game to watch. Would love to see UMD beat gophers again. And then take it to BU Terriers.
This Pio team could make its way to the Frozen Four. No slow starts and "Pioneer Hockey" all the way.
UMD had similar gaudy numbers with a second period lead in '04. In fact, they lost only one game all year long leading after the second intermission. Guess who to.

And that was a 3-1 lead for UMD going into the third period. (As DG said to me in Boston at the end of the 2nd period--"we got 'em right where we want 'em." Prophetic.) Just think, if Berkhoel doesn't make that amazing kick save against Lessard on the 2-1 break at the end of the third period, it would have been 4-1 going in the 3rd, and probably no national title for DU that year. Thanks, Berkhoel!!
I couldn't find any highlights of the 2004 semifinal against UMD, but here are some highlights from the championship game vs. Maine. Inspiration for tomorrow. Key points in video are Maine goal at 2:00, goal waived off at 4:00, 4:50-6:25 Connor James gets hooked for the penalty and Gauthier scores. 13:40---the start of the craziness that became the legendary 6 on 3 to end the game.
For even more inspiration, from about 7:30 forward on this video are highlights from DU's 2005 national championship win over North Dakota, with Stickney's calls:
