Hopefully UMD shows UNO how they are playing over their heads against weak competition and sweep. Worst case I hope they split.

I'd be very happy to split this series. It would keep us up there in Pairwise (I know it's early) and would also tell me a little bit more about this team, who have played, essentially, no one other than the Purple Cows, with whom we split--at home.

My hope is that UMD has a bit of a letdown after what must have been an emotional sweep against the Gophers and we get points this weekend. Plus, it is meaningful (and, thus, hopefully, motivational) for the 9 guys on OUR roster that are from Minnesota as well.

At this writing, I have not heard whether Geuntzel or Massa will be ready to go or not (and we need them both in series like these).

To paraphrase something I heard Coach Blais say the other day about our team's play so far, "We're so young we are too young to know how young we are" or, something like that. This, while trying to explain our early season success, so far.

If UNO swept this series it would be a stunner, to say the least. It certainly would not be a stunner if UMD swept it. If Guentzel and/or Massa doesn't play that would be a significant factor this weekend.

This is a series that should have been highly promoted. Local hotels and motels should be advertising in Duluth like crazy. Between this series and the NoDak series this is where our marketing is impotent. Nevermind whose players are better or worse, if you can't put local butts in the seats bus em in.

I'd like to mention to all you Mavs and Dogs fans that I'm running the second annual From Top Shelf to Food Shelf campaign to help fight hunger this winter.

You can read the rules by clicking the link, but basically:
          1. Pick a hunger-related charity in your community.
          2. Choose a pledge (mine is $5 per tUMD men's and women's hockey goal this weekend, yours could be anything from $1 per goal to $10 per shutout by Kaskisuo to $1 per Vikings penalty yard if you are interested in bankruptcy).
          3. Tell me your pledge.
          4. Do some math on Saturday night to calculate your donation.
          5. Make your donation directly to the charity you chose.

Two generous Mavs fans and one other Bulldog fan have already made pledges (as well as other fans). Last year we raised $543, 10 cans of soup, and a jar of peanut butter. Please join us if you can!

I'd like to remind the UMD fans that are coming down here that they have a place to call their very own here in Omaha, if they wish:

              http://bulldogburgersomaha.com/

This literally opened the week after Biddco and company was down here for last season's UNO/UMD series while he was poaching the NCHC "Fan of the Week" award on enemy turf (of all the the nerve).

I have not eaten here yet. Mrs. Red Cows is a vegetarian and, even though this place is literally blocks from her parents house, I have not been there. They serve nothing but burgers that are 100% all natural, with no antibiotics or added hormones, and, cooked fresh, not frozen.

Good reviews, too, on Yelp, Urbanspoon, and Tripadvisor.

That said, I dunno. I draw the line at eating dogs.

Heading to Lincoln this weekend for the Gophers/Huskers football game with a stop in Omaha on Friday evening. May go to the Friday game if we make it to town in time.

Interested to see if UMD players flop and lay on the ice against everybody or if it's just against the Gophers.
"It ain't over, baby! And that took only six seconds!"

USCHO gives me another reason to not do work while I am at work.

It's just the Gophers. We're better at flopping than Kyle Rau is. It's truly impressive.

Definitely against everybody. Austin Farley is going to make people forget about Robbie Earl. He is that bad.

I feel kinda dirty that we agree on something And it looks like I'll have to take your word for it. Unless something changes in the next couple days, our group wasn't able to collectively get out of work early enough to make it down in time for the Friday hockey game

**** right he will. He's a much better offensive player than Mr. Earl.

Earl had a 44 and 50 point season. I don't think we will be seeing that from Austin Farley.
