Concussions are basically caused because the impacts to the head our players receive is stronger than the technology we use to protect against it. At the recent NFL/GE/Underarmour head challenge, a new foam demonstrated a 25% improvement in peak acceleration and a 45% improvement in severity index compared to existing helmet liners.
Developed by a physician and polymer chemist, the foam is 5% lighter and dramatically more comfortable while protecting against both repetitive low impacts and severe high impacts.
