Nobody wants to start this-and I am heading out early so will do the dirty work. Harvard is not to be taken lightly. From all reports this is a talented and loaded team. They present a completely different challenge from last week. Union is not a team of singular talents, they are just a very good team all playing together. Harvard seems to have a ton of individual talented player, how well they play as a team is not yet decided. If we play like we showed we are capable of with the showing last weekend, we can give anyone in the country trouble. This is the weekend where we will find out for the rest of the season whether we have the team that can sweep Union, or the team that was swept by Bentley.

Re: Harvard @ RPI 11/7/14
I hope this team realizes that they are good enough to beat anybody when they put in the effort. And when they don't, they can be beat by anyone.
Lets work hard tonight and get a win.

Re: Harvard @ RPI 11/7/14
Thus far this year, the only thing consistent about RPI has been their inconsistency.
Tonight, they might play like the team that was capable of sweeping Union. Or they might play like the team that was capable of being swept by Bentley.
Or they might play like both of those teams - in the same game.
That's pretty much what they did last year in their first meeting against Harvard, taking a 3-0 lead in the first period and then allowing the Crimson to come back and salvage a 3-3 tie.
Hope that tonight we will see three periods of the team that was capable of sweeping Union.

Jenny would have started it but she is still a bit peeved about one of my previous posts(not sure which one). We need this game and we need to come out like we want it. Harvard has a lot of quality on this team but we have had much more ice time than they have and hopefully that could work to our advantage and perhaps they are not playing as a cohesive unit yet(at least i hope not). Early in the season, but his is a very important weekend for us. Either we show quickly that we belong near the top of the ECAC(and by virtue of that, the top of the country) or we show that last weekend was just an emotional weekend sweep and nothing else.
I have every confidence that DrD picked a great game to start a thread. We win this one going away. Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
