Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015
I felt like the officials swallowed the whistles on Saturday night - anything short of 5 and a game, they didn't bother to call it. There were a lot of calls that could have been made on both teams towards the end of Saturday and very few of them got whistled.
As far as Jamie needing to be rested vs BSU, if the games go like Friday night, he could play two games a night - very little action on this end. I even felt like he started wandering a bit just to touch the puck and find something to do at times. I honestly don't think college goalies really wear out physically. They are playing at most two games a week with 5 days off in between. I would guess if he needs time off it would come out of practice time.

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015
Saw this tweet and I was thinking along these lines last week, thinking about the season we only won 6 games and we had already won 6 this year. Just the reality of how lean the Ws were for so many years.
@INCH Michigan Tech beat Alaska Anchorage tonight to go to 8-0-0. Huskies won 8 or fewer games in 10 of 16 SEASONS between 1996-97 and 2010-11.

Phillips pretty much texts his girlfriend most of the game, puts the phone down, makes a quick save and goes back to the phone. he's not tired.
as Geezer said, the Gilles 5 minute was ridiculous.

Clearly I'm not as familiar with Pearson nor the goaltending situation in Houghton as the other folks in this thread, but I've never liked the idea of starting the clear #2 in a series against a middling team when result is still important.
Holiday tournaments? The last week before the postseason when league placing is already decided and pairwise implications are limited? Sure. Early/mid season when you are rolling along well and have done well to put yourself in position when the stretch starts? Not so much.

Surrounded by Badger Red in Wisconsin. Such an ugly color, but the beer and cheese are delicious...
