Even though it was a loss, there are a lot of positives to take out of the game. Defiel made some great saves tonight, and looks like he could be a very good goaltender. Can't really fault him on any of the goals.

The Lakers played a good game. All the freshmen defenceman played very good tonight and Patterson played a real nice game.

Damon must be doing something right.

Enough. The Lakers were manhandled both nights and out shot as usual. Instead of trying to find something that makes them look like a good team with good players, let's try a different approach. let them win games and show us they have the talent but until than, enough . They lost twice and playing good was not what got them the losses.

The Lakers were manhandled both nights? Did you even go to the games?

They were right in the thick of things until the last few minutes of Saturday's game. Tonight, Tech pulled away at the half-way point.

These kids had a grand total of six hours practice time with their coaches, and start the season against a Tech team that returns 85% of its scoring from last year while the Lakers iced 14 underclassmen, and the Lakers were "manhandled"?

They were as you would expect: green at times, good at times, not good enough to beat Tech, but not embarrassed, either.

Diefeil (sp?) had a good outing overall. He made some impressive stops, and looked confident. At least four of the goals against him this weekend were because his defense lost coverage below the hash-marks, leaving him exposed.

Perfetto had a good weekend, he made good rushes and created some opportunities.

The most glaring weak spot, to me, was defensive coverage down low. Assignments were missed. When you're a young team that's not surprising. You can learn the game at a higher level in relative anonymity if you're a forward; as defensemen, not so much. The key is to eliminate those missed assignments as the season goes on.

Brand new coaching staff, three goalies in which a sophomore is considered the seasoned vet, with seven freshmen and seven sophomores, how is there NOT going to be growing pains?

I saw a Laker team that skated hard and played until the end. It is already apparent this team will be much better condition-wise, and this will pay dividends as the season progresses.

Enough . There was a reason this team was picked at 9th again and all the looking for something that might give you hope is getting very old. lakers gave up 26 shots in the second period and they were in it. You have got to be kidding me. Last night they were outshot almost 2 to 1 . Crawford sounded like a broken record from the last 15 years. Oh this player and that player is going to be a good one and where do they always finished ? bottom of the league. These guys are 20 years old and older. They know how to play in all situations. It's do they have the talent to win those situations is the question and this year , let them prove it and how do they? WIN

Also hopefully conference games won't be scheduled at the very beginning of the season again.

Diamond, said like a true and loyal fan. Hang in there and don't let the Debbie Downers get you down to their level.
New Coach, new players, new attitudes! Rome wasn't built in a day.
You're right to enjoy the upside improvements.
Fans like you will do much more to improve the program then the nay sayers.
Good on ya except when you play the Seawolves.

Based on the pregame show on Saturday, it sounds like it might happen again with Ferris next year, due to non-conference scheduling. Daniels and Whitten were going to decide based on this weekend.
