Jordan Smelker, now with the Boston Blades of the CWHL,( http://cwhlboston_hockey.stats.point...seasonid=13281) is once again going to the US national team selection camp for the Four Nations Cup, which begins Nov. 4.

Smelker has been an impact player for the Blades in the two exhibition games that I've seen. She's big, physical and fast. Fun to watch.

Gruschow not in the lineup for today's game with Dartmouth. She started the Harvard game but I don't see her as listed as being on the ice for any of the goals in that game so wondering if she got injured early in the game?

Gruschow left the game against Harvard in the 2nd. Watching the game from the stands today. Godin and Huhtamaki also absent. Godin left the game last week against UConn early, hopefully the injury is not too serious.

Team looks a little tired against Dartmouth, which is understandable after a hard fought game yesterday against Harvard. Powerplay still needs to get going.

Please tell us that RPI live streams their games?

RPITV does a great job of video for RPI women's games: www.rpitv.org. Unfortunately, they don't do a great job of informing us of which games they are covering, so it is best to just tune in to their website at gametime...chances are that if it is a home game it is covered.

Most if not all home games so far this year have been streamed by RPITV, though many aren't picked up by WRPI on the radio and it is often a single camera as opposed to the more elaborate production they have for the men's games. One nice thing this year is we have typically been getting play-by-play on the RPITV broadcasts even when the game isn't on the radio, usually courtesy of Perry Laskaris.

It looks like www.rpitv.org will be doing video for both games and www.wrpi.org will be doing audio for both. Great news, although its often difficult to get good synchronization between the two. Maybe RPITV will also have audio?

Anyone know how the injury situation is shaping up for the Engineers? Three of our best (Gruschow, Godin, Huhtamaki) have been recovering from injuries and I'm curious as to which of them will be dressed this weekend.

Important weekend against St. Cloud. RPI has tended to underperform against non-conference teams so this is an important test against a team that has a comparable ranking. It sounds like we should have some of our injured players back but it is not really clear who will be in the line-up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aCIO0s4QE8. Go Engineers!

Looks like Godin is back in the line-up but Huhtamaki and Gruschow are still out: http://www.rpiathletics.com/roster.aspx?path=whock

FWIW, Huhtamaki and Gruschow were with someone who either is a recruit or is a potential recruit (or their friend perhaps). They went to the locker room together between periods and after the game.

Well, yesterday's game was not fun to watch, to put it mildly. RPI's power play is weak at the best of times, and with Huhtamaki and Gruschow out of the lineup it is beyond weak. St. Cloud gave RPI five power play opportunities (I thought that the refs seemed a little hard on SCSU, in fact) , including a long 5 on 3. Nothing.

Hopefully today will be a different story. Once again, the game is on www.rpitv.org.

Well, if yesterday's game was not fun to watch, I don't know what you can say about today's..... 8 shots on goal!!!??? At some point, the question has to be asked about why RPI can't get better results. The roster is not particularly strong but they are not 1-8-2 bad. Injuries have been a factor, no doubt, but they should certainly be able to put together a few wins. I've spokes with Coach Burke in the past and he seems like a decent recruiter and coach, but the results aren't there the last few years to prove it. I'm sure they miss Brent Hill on the bench and recruiting, but I just can't figure out why this team isn't better.
