  • D1 Transfers for 2014-15

Sounds like there is some significant/regular movement of players from Teams. Starting this thread to capture the movement in one place.

They all played in 36 games. Bramm had respective #s. 5 in one year is a lot, what gives? Kolls really going to go to her 3rd team? Anyone know where they are going?

If I'm not mistaken, you cannot transfer twice and expect to be eligible to play. (There was a case quite a few years ago where a player transferred back to her original school, and then was not eligible to play. The transfer was money rather than athletic related at the time.).

Anybody object if I start a poll of when and how Miller & UMD part company?

the upside of Potter not getting the SCSU job is she'd be a likely replacement at UMD IMO

My curiosity is piqued by the potential "how" options in your poll.

So UMD loses their entire soph to be junior class except for 2 goalies.

I think you're mistaken. Football and basketball have all kinds of transfers when things don't work out as expected.

I agree -- BC football has an incoming transfer who played a year at BC, went to UConn for 2 years, and is transferring back. He is coming as a 5th year/grad student, but I don't think that matters. If he wasn't he would just have had to sit a year.

                        Trouble in paradise.

I've heard about serious grumblings for a long time but it would be helpful to know if these are voluntary or otherwise, as another poster has asked.

With McDonald gone as well, that's a decent shake-up...or would that be shake-down?

                          Little bit of both...

Kolls was technically a senior as she didn't redshirt her junior year so she's not returning.
There's been issues with Carlstrom but I think this was a mutual parting of ways.
                          Delarbre heads to D3 Merrimack.
Del Basso will return to Australia.
Bramm going out east somewhere... or so I've heard.
                          Krause transferring to Northeastern.

Yes, a lot of players are leaving but I would consider them "on the bubble" players anyway. With a very talented group of 9 new players coming in and the return of Gillanders and Lacquette, I don't think this program is taking these losses very hard.

I really don't think Potter would be the replacement at UMD. Too many issues in her time as a player with her husband being out of control. Rumors are that could also be a factor as to why she was cut from Team USA.

                              It absolutely matters.

In all D1 sports except (I believe) football, basketball, and men's ice hockey there is a "one time transfer exception" that allows you to transfer without penalty. If you transfer a second time, you have to sit out for a year...but, you still will get to complete your 4 years of eligibility within 5 years. If you graduate and wish to enroll in grad school and can demonstrate that your program is offered at another school and not at your current school, you may earn an extra free transfer, or in the case of the sports with no transfer exception, the only time you can transfer without penalty.
