  • Regionals attendance

This always seems to be a popular topic this time year

Just judging from the TV shots of the stands, it doesn't seem to be as embarrassingly empty as they were last year

    Re: Regionals attendance

BPort looked good for an early game. Cinci looks bad, surprised they didn't make that regional play sat/sun, Friday afternoon games should be reserved for regionals that will always draw well, like minny. Then again, most of Ohio/Kentucky is unemployed, so maybe it's a good plan.

      Re: Regionals attendance

The regionals and sites are predetermined in advance whether they will be Friday Saturday or Saturday Sunday

One "Eastern" and one "Western" regional must be Friday/Saturday and the other will be Saturday Sunday

Cincinnati actually looks jampacked compared to what we saw in Toledo and Grand Rapids last year

They do not wait for which teams are going where to make that determination

I completely understand that, they should still make obvious low-drawing sites the weekend games ahead of time. They'd need OSU, Miami, and UMich to make that regional to fill the joint.

East regionals will always draw better than West regionals because of geography see have to pick one Western regional to be on Friday/saturday

MSP will draw 10-13k (maybe more with the goofs there) whether the games are at 8a on Wednesday, or Fri/Sat. It's a no-brainer.

Ever notice how the loudest critics of neutral sites are the people that are fans of teams that would host, if we went back to campus sites?

Bridgeport was basically sold out between the red lines. It certainly helps to have QU there and UVM also travels well. It seems like the Friars brought at least a vocal group. Union is a short trip too; I hope they drew well. With the exception of putting Yale in, it was really a perfect regional for B'Port.

Bridgeport attendance is very good. A QU/Union final tomorrow could push sellout status.

Not likely with Providence leading 4-0 after two. Should see a lot of Friars fans making the short trip from providence tomorrow.

The second one was vs North Dakota too. Ticket prices in St. Paul are very high.
