From the ECAC site (http://www.ecachockey.com/men/2013-14/News/20142203_Champ_Game_Braodcast):

After this if the league signs an agreement with fox college sports they deserve it. And we wonder why our league is looked down upon; do you see any other games gettinng cut because of "bandwidth constraints". I understand in the short run the league doesn't have any recourse, but you have to cut ties with a network who is unable to secure a broadcasting source with a major provider.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Shagwell should be sooooo fired for this. That's just an embarrassment.

Congratulations to Coach Vaughan on winning the Coach of the Year award. Truly a deserving honor given where the team was predicted to finish.

Too bad we can't get "Colgate Dad" Jim Craig to make an appearance in the locker room to rally the troops. But,......I'm sure the boys have enough motivation already!!
Been waiting since 1990 for another Whitelaw Cup.
Go 'gate.....make us proud Red Raiders!!!!!!!

Expending some relational capital with the Mrs to watch Colgate hockey on TV for both weekend nights, but so worth it. Unlike last night where we were outplayed for a significant portion of the game, Colgate came out hard in period #1 tonight looking to draw first blood. Can they maintain the energy??

This is reminding me a bit of the Princeton semifinal in '08. Hope it's not the same outcome.

2-0 Union. Ugh.

03-22-2014, 07:46 PM
3-0 Union. Ugh.

3-0 Union. Ugh.

Those guys are gassed, and not getting anything in the first might have been it. Just put a strong effort in the rest of the way.

Murphy's been our worst player this weekend. Taking stupid penalties at the worst times.

4-0. Ah well, the guys are gassed. Feeling bad for DV -- 21 yrs with Colgate and no ECAC title. We'll see what happens next in the NCAAs, and over the next couple years!

Spiro saves some face, 4-1.

03-22-2014, 08:39 PM
Regroup and go win your next one.

Murphy's been our worst player this weekend. Taking stupid penalties at the worst times. He just made it respectable, 4-2.

03-22-2014, 08:43 PM
ENG makes it 5-2. Meh. No qualms at all with DV's strategy.

If only...

If only one of those chances in the first gets through, who knows? Once they fell behind though, then that was it, you can only push through on momentum for so long.

There's a reason why Union's name is going on the trophy for the third year in a row, and they deserve congratulations. But, this team went out, and had a couple chances to roll over and die this weekend, and they didn't. So, there is at least one more game to go, and for a team that was picked to finish ninth in the league, to go out, finish 2nd in the regular season, and make the championship game, there is no one out there who can reasonably say that this was not a successful season. There's a game to look forward to still, and a side that got a lot of experience for next year. Good ride, all things considered.

Noble effort 'Gate! Nothing to be ashamed of in losing to the Union juggernaut.

03-22-2014, 09:05 PM
Let's all gather together now and pray for a bus ride to Worcester next Saturday. Loss is tough to swallow, but Union is simply a superior team. Superior to all most likely.

03-22-2014, 09:08 PM
Good weekend boys. Tough loss, but let's come out STRONG next weekend. Darn proud of this team!!!!! We can play with anyone!!!!!
Gate radio........thanks so much!!!! Great play by play all year. Great googly moogly.....let's hope for the NCAAs.
Go 'gate

Terrific season, Colgate! Never felt so proud to be No. 2! Think we picked up some new fans along the way :-)

Congrats to our favorite Resilient Raiders on a great, great weekend against two of the nation's best.
CU in the NCAAs!
Go 'Gate!
