Re: RPI at Brown, 2/28/14 - Pretend it's not Friday

Coming off the disappointment last weekend, we have to return to the winning hockey we played for a month before that. These are very important games for the standings and for our confidence.

      Lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I reading the standings right? If we tie tonight, do we clinch 7th place? We'd be two points ahead of Brown but would have both a better head-to-head record and also a better conference W-L record.

Don't thinks so. If SLU takes 4 points this weekend they could tie us. Split head/head so I think next goes to top 4 record.

A tie tonight clinches a home-ice spot, but not 7th. It also doesn't preclude the Engineers from taking 6th.

Next is actually number of wins. If both SLU and RPI end up at 20, SLU would take the tiebreaker on ECAC wins.

RPI Gamenotes; FRIDAY’S OFFICIALS: Mike Baker and Robert St. Lawrence are Friday’s referees, while Glen Cooke and Scott Wheeler patrol the lines.
SATURDAY’S OFFICIALS: The referees for Saturday are Kevin Curtis and Tom Steinel Jr ... The linesmen are Bill Bredin and David Brown.... http://www.rpiathletics.com/document..._e.pdf?id=1783
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

We would get the tiebreak vs. Brown, yes, but SLU would still be able to catch us. We would clinch 8th, though.

Baker doing tonight's game? Guess the penalty sheet is going to be busy. He likes to use tight enforcement of rules. At least we know what to expect, so it's a good thing.
