That's one thing AC has over LP - hotel space (by far). Hotels were cheaper in AC to boot. March is out of season down there, but just the opposite in LP.

Now firmly established as a perennial contender and moving past the unexpected tribulations of this season, Union has only one goal left to accomplish on the ice.
“We established that winning culture and put ourselves with the elite teams,” Ikkala said, “so now I think we need to prove we deserve to be there with a national championship.”

Both teams??? *** is he talking about??? Only RPIs bench clears. Seth should watch the video he posted in his own article.

So happy RPIs season ended the way it did. Exactly what they deserved. Terrible team, coach and program...

Agreed, Sam has been putting in the hard work in practice and doing extra skills sessions and the hard work has paid off. He's been a much more noticeable player over the second half of the season and his icetime has risen accordingly.

Carr and Stevens were standouts, Max is money in the biggest games. Onward!
It's not just you. Brutal officiating both games. Friday there was the tripping penalty that should have been called on the Red Line. And if that was actually a penalty then why was there not a penalty shot? Total F up by the ref on that one.

The refs lost control on Sat. To the point where it almost got really messy late in the 2nd. They seemed to pull it together in the 3rd though.

Great weekend overall. Looking forward to next weekend. More 1st place votes coming our way on Monday.

BC is about to lose to ND, again. Union should move up to #2 tomorrow. That will be a first.

BC is losing with 55 seconds left. They have a big lead over us in the pairwise. Its a longshot but if they lose (down by 2 with 55 seconds) AND we run the table this coming weekend, we might catch them and that would give us Worcester. BC would get Bridgeport. We can only guess at this point. We may get more 1st place votes from USCHO. There are lots of folks on the bubble. Also, if western teams have conference upsets, that are not currently ranked, its going to knock folks out that otherwise might have made it. The problem for the ECAC is that when a HE team loses, its to another high pairwise. Losing to a low pairwise is a real bodyblow. A loss by Cornell tonight might end any chance for a NCAA tournament slot.

BC is too far ahead of us in the RPI. Also, ND is a high rank. However, if we run the table AND the right teams win and lose in HE, we may catch them, maybe 25% chance.
                After the game
                Pairwise RPI
                BC 57 .5895
                UNION 55 .5808

The Northeastern Loss helps Colgate move up.

Cornell it is. Cornell is always tough, but I honestly like that matchup on the big ice up at Lake Placid. However, Cornell wore Clarkson down during the OT period, so I don't like our chances if the game goes that far.

Union won't be worn down. Playing you guys is exactly like playing a scrimmage -- same techniques, same endurance, same physicality.

We are a 2:1 underdog in this game. And in the words of MacReady at the end of The Thing,"if we have any surprises for each other we're not really in a position to do much about it."

We need to grab a lead. Playing from ahead there are ways we can control the development of the game. Falling behind means falling into a pit and flailing, hoping for purchase. Union's a stone cold killer when they face that.

Its Bridgeport for certain ... make your plans
Even if we (hopefully) run the table ... we cannot overtake BC in the PW or RPI. Likewise, regardles of what happens, Ferris State cannot catch us. Its Bridgeport. Make your plans accordingly.

RPI's AD could have something to say about that. Wait until Sunday evening. (in terms of location)

I know that he is on the NCAA selection committee ..... hopefully he can watch out for the best interests of the ECAC and prevent the conference from getting screwed which is usually the case.
