By the time the season ends, we will be nearing the 30th anniversary of the famous comedy movie, so I figured I'd try to incorporate it into the title.
The rules aren't going to change from last season (link provided), so this should work well.
As always, everyone and anyone is welcome to play. Honestly, the more players, the better and it isn't a big time commitment, I swear.
So, let's kick this thing off right. The rules of the game are as follows:
Please pick one player from each team for each game to be played in which RPI is involved. Different rules will apply over New Year's weekend, but we'll get to that later. The same player may not be picked multiple times in a single weekend.
Picks may be changed until puck drop on the first game of the weekend. At that point, they become locked in. If your pick for a later game (say, Saturday) is suspended or injured in one of the earlier games of the weekend (say, Friday), then you will be able to change to a different player. Always err on the side of being able to change your pick. Sometimes, information relevant to the situation doesn't come out until later, but I will try and provide a consistent standard to each case.
Please, please, please do not edit your original post. There is a high likelihood that I will miss it. Please submit a new post with your new choices or stating what your edit is. Thank you in advance.
To keep things slightly more entertaining, the top-scoring forward and defenseman for each team will be ineligible. No player with less than five (hockey, as opposed to PtC) points will be ruled ineligible.
The poster(s) that accumulate the most points on a given weekend will be rewarded with a bonus point.
hawthr, the reigning champion, looks to repeat while Ralph, RKarger, and RPIHFH are looking to extend their point streaks.
Forwards:
Goal - 2 points
Assist - 1 point
Defensemen:
Goal - 3 points
Assist - 2 points
Goalie:
Goal - 10 points
Assist - 4 points
Win - 2 points
Complete Game Shutout - 3 points
The designation for whether a player is regarded as a forward or defenseman will be made on a game-by-game basis based upon the line chart on college hockey stats.
If, for whatever reason, you are not able to post your picks here, please contact me in some manner. Anything timestamped before puck drop will be included. Email is probably the easiest way to reach me. I have a gmail account whose name matches my user name here.
And, with all of that out of the way, let's get down to the game!
