Gordie and a kid from Hobart transferred together. Seems like some LI kids at OSU who are friends. Article was in insidelacrosse.com yesterday. We have to replace his 20 goals from current roster.

I would assume Tom Moore moves up the depth chart with Gordie leaving and incoming frosh Dallas Bridle from Orangeville, Ont. will get lots of playing time. Gordie is from Maryland and played at Gilman. The kid from Hobart also played at Gilman. I would assume both of them will have to sit out this coming season as well as losing a year of eligibility. Kind of a strange move for a a freshman starter on a Final Four team.

Also, the kid from the Hill Academy, Zach Miller, will play a major role. He scored 5 goals and had 1 assist in Under Armour AA game last week plus won 10 of 16 face-offs.

Yep, Miller and Bridle are both from Hill. Miller is a middie while Bridle and Moore are attack. I don't think scoring will be an issue. I also like this d-man coming in from Columbus, OH; Jake Nolan: 6'6", 225 lbs.

NCAA allows playing immediately except in baseball, basketball, football, and men's ice hockey.
First the new school or the athlete must request contact. Athlete Must be in good standing and academically eligible to play for existing school and get a one time transfer waiver. Don't know Tierney's feelings, but if we were going to stay in ECAC, he might deny request for one time transfer.

Pac-12 has done away with one time transfer except for very limited reasons.

Since Chase graduated, Zach Miller may be our new faceoff man.
            GO DU !!!

Article doesn't even mention his commitment to DU! I don't know how good of a prospect he was, but it appears that he didn't fit the Montgomery profile. Hopefully we can get someone good to fill his spot. http://www.denverpost.com/colleges/c...ry-establishes

The Plymouth Whalers aren't going to mention DU

He is one of many former USNDTP players to take the CHL route in Canada. That program seems to be particularly targeted by the CHL (QMJHL, OHL & WHL).

It is official, Evan Cowley coming to DU this season.

                        http://www.denverpioneers.com/ViewAr...CLID=208659067

DU official roster has 20 players on it so far but 4 frosh are still missing.

                        1) Landon Smith - F
                        2) Ray Pigozzi - F
                        3) Nick Neville - D
                        4) Greg Ogard - G

Right now official roster plus those 4 equals 21 skaters and 3 goalies for 24 players.

Read on the NCAA site you don't/can't sign a NLI unless you are receiving "athletic financial aid."
                          • Doubt if Ogard is, at least this year. since he is the 3rd goalie.
                          • Landon Smith attended the Chicago Steel selection camp and is one of 7 players shown on the roster. Ray Pigozzi is not.
                          • Could Smith be deferred to 2014??
                          • Pigozzi and Neville not on "athletic" scholie??
                          GO DU !!!

Joe Colborne signed to a 1-year deal with Leafs. Per CapGeek.com it is a one-way, $600,000 deal. Same pay whether he is in NHL or AHL.

Thanks for transfer rule update. Most people assume it's all sports.

We have probably all learned a lot about Lax in past 5-6 years. (DU78 excluded for he's from a hot bed) Chase may be the most valuable player in college lax for the past 4 years. He won face offs over 50%. He scored some. Not too many teams have a 4 year FO/SO player for 4 years. It should be recognized.

Viz: You got ****ed at me a few years ago when I complained about no DU support in Albany for NCAA's. I was not referring to national fans. Obviously few can jump on a plane at a moment's notice. I was disappointed in NY area and New England Alums. (driving distance) Figure 300 grads a year between 23-72. That's 15,000 people + wives and kids and their friends. I was hoping more then 5 would show up. DG, me, Ed S, and maybe 2 others.

                              enjoy your summer,

I really hope Ray Pigozzi still pans out and he makes the roster, frankly because I've had his nickname pegged since the first time I heard about him. How fun would it be to have "The Pig" on the team !!!??? Could be a real sleeper player too; maybe get in a couple games and be an unsung hero. What a story line
I want to be a fan of the best team in college hockey - so that explains why I am a DENVER fan!
