A brief update from the Department of This, That & The Other.

    1) After finishing a workout in the Coors Fitness Center earlier today I walked through Magness Arena. I spoke briefly to some of the men affixing a message board just below the press box on the East side of the arena. I was told the message board will be operational for this weekend's games.

    2) The same cannot be said for the four-sided video/scoreboard over center ice. I was told the work to upgrade the video boards to "HD" qulaity is not yet finished.
sigpic Eight. ....with a design on nine.

Jarid Lukosevicius is a rookie in the BCHL and in 14 GP is 5-10-15. This week he will attend Team Canada West selection camp for U-19 World Junior A Challenge. O'Connor a rookie in USHL and Finlay still in Major Midgets, but is a reserve for Penticton and has played 3 games there. These guys are Young!

Really glad to see Miller will be replaced this year. Extra plus -- DU alum.
We play Brown Jan. 3 and Miller will be in Madison and Lassonde at the WJC in Malmo, Sweden.
              GO DU !!!

I'm disappointed that The Mountain Man (Doremus) didn't get a C or A; if he keeps playing like he has been - next year he will force Monty to put him in that slot. A Goalie as a C or A seems like a token move to me ??? Like Sam is going to leave the goal crease, to go gripe at the ref when there's a discussion by the penalty box... no way. I would think that would be a big distraction for a goalie.

There's more to being a captain than talking to the refs. Coach was speaking to Sam's role as a leader of the team, which probably means in situations we don't see- practices, road trips, meetings... In any case he's not wearing a letter because Montgomery says he's a traditionalist and doesn't think his goalies should be focused on anything but stopping pucks during games.

Sounds like we need to recruit someone from Porter Hospital to come on here daily to post the casualty list from the day before. We're going to have a completely different team at the end of the year at this rate!
