Now we know when a Captain will be named and who the favorites are.
Sounds like Hawkinson will miss either all or a big chunk of the season.

To Be Named
Montgomery, who has never been an NCAA head coach but does have extensive pro and junior experience, doesn't plan to name captains until after the fourth game of the season. That's when the Pioneers return from the two-game Alaska Gold Rush tournament in Alaska, Fairbanks. He has had limited practice time with his team, which opens Oct. 11 to begin a two-game series against visiting Merrimack.
The top candidates for captain and assistant captains are senior David Makowski and juniors Joey LaLeggia, Josiah Didier, Daniel Doremus, Ty Loney and Matt Tabrum.

Freshman forward Brad Hawkinson of Aurora suffered a shoulder injury in a recent player's practice and might be lost for the season, Montgomery said. He will be redshirted if surgery is required.
