Looks to be a late bloomer as a prospect. Should give UML some depth with his commitment.

He spent half a year in Cedar Rapids as an energy/ grinder type player during our Anderson Cup team.

For some reason Mark Carlson left him unprotected and Omaha protected him.

Had a breakout year playing on a line with two UNO commits.

I was expecting some recruiting news but I figured it would be a defenseman.

Hough finished 16th in the USHL in scoring (24-28-52 line in 59 GP). The UNO commits finished 1st (Randolph) and 3rd (Vesel).

herbst, Any update on Nick Master and his recovery from his injury?

I know by the end of the season here Master was walking normal, and skating. Haven't heard how he is doing since. Cedar Rapids Try Out Camp is the last weekend in May, so I will know more then.

he should be happy for us... we're providing warm bodies to teach his players.

Now, if certain schools would like to donate recruits then I'm willing to listen.

it's absurd, where do you draw the line, 26 year old FR? 28?

or commiting to a school at birth instead of 12 or 13?

This is an absurd statement due to the fact that he was Junior Hockey eligible up until next year.

USA hockey sets age guidelines for its hockey leagues. Last year '93s were the last eligible year and this coming year it will be '94s.

USHL teams are allowed only 4 overager spots. It gives late bloomers a chance.

For example: Jayson Megna didnt get a scholorship with UNO until he was an overager in the USHL. He went to UNO and was on the All Freshman team in the WCHA. He is now playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
