A video of Mr. Sakellaropoulos in action.

I had figured Bennett was heading to the USHL, since they are really the only junior league still playing, and I had noticed he was uncommitted. This kid has good numbers and takes up a lot of the net, though he doesn't look exactly quick or mobile. Should be a good backup for now and can develop beyond that. And will add some Greek flavor to the team!

Alex participated in the USHL Top Prospects game earlier this year and stopped all 9 shots he faced: http://pointstreak.com/prostats/boxs...gameid=2131355

Current Dutchmen Theo DiPauli was a teammate of Sakellaropoulos with the Steel during the 2011-2012 season.

Ghost was named a Second Team East All-American. Congrats, Shayne!

In case you missed this about Union defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere: http://www.dailygazette.com/weblogs/...junior-season/
"That was a lot of fun. We don't go to jail, we beat up their chicken forwards, we score 10 goals and win. Now, 'The Moose' drinks beer." -- Defenseman Andre Dupont after the "Broad Street Bullies" Flyers beat up Vancouver, 11-5, in March 1973.

Yes, great news on Ghost.. I kinda thought he would be back, would be crazy to go pro till he gets a little bigger.

And on the Pontarelli-watch front, Cornwall is now in the finals of the CCHL playoffs after Mr. P either scored or assisted on 5 of Cornwall's last 6 goals in the semis. This is one of his nicer efforts http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.co...62&autostart=1

                    • Michael Vechionne finished the season very strong getting a goal and 2 assists in Tried City's last game of the season to finish the season with 60 pts. Good for top 15 in the league. That is very, very good in that league which is by far the top junior league in N America

You're the last person I'd expect to correct spelling.

..and including a goal on Friday night for a 4 point weekend. Overall it was a good weekend for all of U's recruits in the USHL. Alex "the Greek" (I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name) had a shutout on Saturday and stopped 46 of 48 shots on Friday in a 3-2 Chicago victory. Jeff Taylor had 2 assists and a +4 on Saturday, and even Tyler Hynes and Mat Krug had points (a goal and assist respectively). Taylor is the only one who's team made the playoffs, so everyone else's season is over. Taylor had a really nice season too with 27 points and a +41 that was 2nd in the league for dmen.
