DU vs UAA 3/8/13

DU Pioneers face the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves (don't call them Seahawks) tonight at 7:37 PM and Sunday morning at 11:07 AM at Magness Arena. Remember Daylight Savings Time starts AT 2:00AM Sunday--spring forward.
These are the final regular season games for DU and UAA as members of the WCHA.

Pioneer Vision will stream the games for a fee. ESPN 102.3 will have the audio broadcast.

From December 7, 2012 to tonight's contest, Alaska-Anchorage has played twenty games. In those games the Seawolves have posted a record of 1-16-3 [.125].

Eighteen of the games were played against WCHA opponents with Alaska-Anchorage posting a record of 1-14-3 [.138].

In fourteen of those games A-A scored two goals or less while posting a record of 0-13-1 [.035].

In fifteen of those games the Seawolves allowed three goals or more to the opposition and posted a record of 1-12-2 [.133]. Within those fifteen games the Seawolves surrendered four or more goals nine times and posted a 1-8-0 [.111] when doing so.

Alaska-Anchorage has been shut out four times in its past twenty games. Its lone win in the past twenty contests was a 5-4 victory, on the road, versus Michigan Tech, one month ago today.

Alaska-Anchorage has been shut out four times in its past twenty games. Its lone win in the past twenty contests was a 5-4 victory, on the road, versus Michigan Tech, at Winter Carnival, where Tech led 4-1 during the second period, one month ago today.

And the winner of the doofus of the week award: (drumroll) is Old Pio. So conscious am I of the impending change to Daylight Saving* time (for the rest of the country, not me) and Sunday's 10AM start time, I've been trying to log on to Pio Vision at 6:00 and being frustrated and cursing (there's a switch) by the notation "the event hasn't started yet." A Mr. B. Bunny once said: "What a maroon."

*Not wanting to be too anal about it (remember all the time I've spent in newsrooms) there is no "s" at the end of "daylight saving." Daylight is not saved like in a bank. It is saved in the sense that the daylight hours are extended by springing forward, hence "daylight saving time." Can you imagine what the poor wretches who work for me have to put up with?

Pio Vision is a go...........

Gwoz loaded up the top 3 lines to generate some more offense. 3 frosh on 4th line now. Wanted to get the frosh some more playing time the last few weeks so he put them among the upper 3 lines.
