Also retired. 5 years this month. Congratulations to players, coaches and AD for a great run. Hope to see 2 W's this weekend. Will require another big effort. I have been to at least 1 game every year since 1963 my Freshman year. I think this is year 50. This year Harvard and BU in Boston. Go RED. Go RPI. Go ECAC.

I'd be SHOCKED if we got to Part VI. I think we only did it two years ago.

Maybe you should start saying nice things about our great coach
That was not posted when I made my statement. However, I stand by my statement......any non-credible writer can write his own.........fantasy!! Let me know when it hits the Globe!
I've been lost since 1989. I got a breakaway on a frozen river and have been skating ever since.

Totally off topic, but the RPI men's tennis team defeated D-II SCSU. http://www.rpiathletics.com/news/201...313132539.aspx

I must admit it is a good one. We may not have the most fans, but we probably have the most retired. There has to be some simple explanation for that fact.

There is. All of those who are retired are probably in their 60s. They attended RPI or are locals who became fans when RPI hockey was just about the only thing to do in Troy for entertainment (except ehf?).

We started this thread on 3/5/13. So at this rate if we make it to the NCAA tourney we should close this thread. Conceivably we will even if we only make it to AC.

Or RPI grads are so successful that they can afford to retire younger?
Or RPI grads are in professions in which they burn out quicker?

Instead of the word if, could you please use the term 'if and when'

In speaking of St, Clooud, I noticed that next year they will be renewing their USCHO-fan-forum-storied rivalry with #26 Union. This begs a question, and something I thought may be a real possibility with a number of the larger western schools' unwillingness to travel for non-conference games... Is it possible that SCSU will only be coming out to the Capital District for one year, and playing RPI one night, Union the next?

You are correct, I joined in 1993 when my son entered RPI. Beeing a hockey fan already, I was instantly hooked on RPI hockey. When my daughter followed in 2004, I figured I had made enough contributions to RPI to buy my way into the fan support. I love this place and this hockey team.
