Just saw this on Twitter, and while it doesn't relate directly to the WCHA, it could.

I just don't know how trustworthy either of the sources are... but...

May we have BREAKING NEWS soon? We were 1st to report Penn St.'s ascent to D1. Is another top ACHA team making the jump? Details soon...

Bad wording in the tweet. ACHA teams don't, "make the jump." Penn State still has ACHA hockey.

That was my thinking regarding how credible the CollegeHockey.info tweet was.

But then to be followed up by a tweet from the EIEIO... err EIU Hockey account (yes, I'm well aware since it's club it's not an official outlet from the University).
