Those are impressive numbers! That's pretty cool he's coming this fall too.

He was voted top player on his WJC team too. The British are coming!

He's from the Maine part of England, Yawkshire, so should enjoy being a black bear. I think it's nice we're getting commitments from kids from other countries.

There are a lot of good things mentioned about Musil in this link. I like the comments about ultra compete level and the +40 stat.

98 D Simon Butala (@LIGulls U16) commits to Maine. 6'1 D is an imposing effective skater for a strong Gulls team with more commits to come.

Anyone notice his coach comments about how Red will make him a great player? When was the last time a junior coach said that about Whitehead?

Really appears that Maine is getting much better talent these days... Definitely moving in the right direction.

Black Bears stocking up for the future
                        By Nathan Fournier

The University of Maine men’s ice hockey team has picked up their third 1998 birth year commitment in a month.

Simon Butala, a defenseman from Downingtown, PA., who currently suits up for the Long Island Gulls U16 team that plays in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League’s National U16 league, verbally committed to the school on Monday for the 2016-‘17 or 2017-‘18 season. Fellow defenseman Konstantin Chernyuk committed on Jan. 24 and forward A.J. Droblet committed on Jan. 14.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Butala has five goals and nine assists in 26 games this season.

I saw the USA-U17 team also won the 5 nation tournament and went 15-0 in international play this year:

                          http://www.usantdp.com/news_article/...rrer_id=666974

I saw there are some players not yet committed to a college. Does anyone know if Maine is recruiting any of these players? Maine has had good luck in the past it seems with the players from that program... Jimmy Howard, Todd Jackson, Barrett Heisten, Greg Moore, Doug Janik, Ryan Hegarty, Kelen Corkum, and Nick Pryor. Corkum and Pryor both had injury riddled careers at Maine and had their season ended due to concusion issues.

There is a power forward on this team(Kirwan) that looks like a beast. It would be nice if Maine could land some of these USA NTDP players like they used to.

A couple of Maine's youngest commitments may tryout for these teams.

Right Droblet and Butala are both hoping to receive invitations to attend the NTDP Top 40 tryouts in March to be on U17 team next season.

It says Drobot on other sites. Is Droblet a typo?
