I'm just sick of talking about it. Sick of the whining about it. I almost don't want to play them again because I'm sick of the complaining. Like I said, I've moved on.Go Gophers!

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!
My first season having tickets was in 1972-73, so I can speak from experience. There is no doubt that in the 70's the Gophers' biggest rival was Wisconsin! Their fans traveled very well...the old barn here always had lots of red in the stands when the Badgers came to town, and they made a LOT of noise. Gopher fans were of course just as passionate. It also didn't hurt that beyond the battles in the league both teams were such national powers. Between my first year in 1972-73 and 1982-83 (11 years) the Gophers and Badgers won the NCAA title 7 times. Toward the end of that timeframe North Dakota was coming on strong too and they gradually became just as big of a rival, eventually surpassing Wisconsin as the Gophers' No. 1.
Now with the Big Ten looming I expect Wisconsin to start out being the Gophers' No. 1 again, and then we'll just have to see what develops from there. Too early to say for sure right now, IMO, but if I had to guess I think it will eventually be Michigan. They are down right now but I don't expect that to last long.Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

I admit I will miss the Gophers playing UND, those games are intense and playoff-like no matter what time of year or where they are played. I know other rivalries will rise up, but playing the sioux\sue\whioux usually brought out the best and worst of players and fans alike. Fun stuff.Originally posted by CavalryNateDisrespecting the Gophers is like disowning your mother the first time you get a girlfriend.

Explains the schedule nicely. I extended our group thanks to tDon for the clarification.
