Re: RPI @ Princeton: Saturday, Jan. 12th
It is going to take the same kind of effort as we put out last night to beat this Princeton team. They play hard and don't give up.
Need to be ready from the opening face off.
They scored in the first minute last night, and even though they were totally outplayed by Union, they were one shot away from tying the game at the end.
I look forward to seeing the Engineers in person today.
Lets go red!!!!!!!!!Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Re: RPI @ Princeton: Saturday, Jan. 12th
Princeton is a big physical team. They come out with immediate speed and jump and they did that yesterday. Union negated it-but was helped by 4 consecutive penalties called on Princeton. Union got a PP goal 5 on 3 when the Princeton penalties mounted up and they had 2 in the box over lapping. If tonight turns out to be a special teams game (and remember we have Kotyra again who helped call 12 penalties last night) we had better make sure we at least win the special teams battle. Last night we played well-but we were also lucky. QU almost undid us with a shorthanded goal on the first power play. They also had a couple of 2 on 1 breaks that were flubbed and 2 remarkable saves by Bryce. They hit 2 posts. (I know, we hit the post and had some breaks of our own) But QU could have easily had a couple more goals. We just cannot afford to allow that kind of thing here in Princeton. We have played well in this last difficult stretch with the OT loss to BU and the loss at UNH and the tie last night. But in those 3 games we have only scored a total of 5 goals. We do not yet seem to have the offiense to allow the opponent to score any easy goals. Hopefully we can hold this to a low scoring game as Union just did.Last edited by DrDemento; 01-12-2013, 07:23 AM.Take the shortest distance to the puck and arrive in ill humor

Re: RPI @ Princeton: Saturday, Jan. 12th
This thread could be very lonely tonight with so many coming to NJ. For those driving-the rain has stopped and the temp is in the mid 40's heading to the lower 50's. It will be warm outside but all bets are off inside Baker Rink which can be an ice box at times. It will be crowded-they only seat a shade above 2000 but the place can seem like much more than that. Drive carefully-lots of construction around the Princeton area on the main conduits-Route 1 and Route 130. And of course-ther are the notorious New Jersey and Pennsylvania drivers all around you in that area.Take the shortest distance to the puck and arrive in ill humor

It may be even more lonesome if I don't wake up from my nap in time.
