    Re: Team USA--WJC

Apparently the 24 remaining traveled to Russia, but still no word on the last cut that I've seen.

I'm hoping from Grezclyk as well. Glad to hear Murphy is okay. He's gonna be a good piece to have.

Looking at the roster, grezclyk would be the shortest dman. That's probably their concern.

I think if the kids look at his stats they will respect him. Also these teams have such little time together that they don't have enough time to be coached up.

I agree. If your an American kid who can't get up to play for Phil Housley and your country, then not sure what will motivate you.

I'm a little confused. Thought Team USA only had to make 1 more cut a defenseman. But the roster to the IIHF includes only 6 on the blue line. Missing are Matt Grzelcyk from BU and Patrick Sieloff with the Sarnia Sting.

I had read Sieloff might be on the bubble and there was concern about Grzelcyk's size, 5'9". But why cut 2 if you only need to cut 1???
                          GO DU !!!

Read the previous posts. If those posts are correct, they haven't cut two, they are deciding which of the two will go on the final roster.

Question: is Tony Camranesi (UMD) too old to play in this event? A little concerned by speed (or lack thereof) in USA line-up and he'd be an asset. Only two 'Sota boys on 2013 squad, in stark contrast to 2010 Gold Medal squad with Kristo, Gardiner, Stepan, Schroeder and tender Lee.

Or 1960 Olympic Gold Medal team (Tom Williams, Paul Johnson, Roger Christian, Bill Christian, Bob Own, John Mayasich, Jack McCarten, and Dick Meredith). Or 1980 Olympic Gold Medal team (Mark Johnson, Rob McClanahan, Steve Christoff, Neal Broten, Mark Pavelich, Phil Verchota, Buzz Schneider, Eric Strobel, Dave Christian, John Harrington, Mike Ramsey, Bill Baker, and Steve Janaszak).
