  • Neumann Nights hockey 2012/2013

Went to watch home opener weekend. Team really young with 13 freshman .
Seemed to be have more chemistry by Sundays game but need lots of work.
Great coach, hopefully in a couple of years will be more in contention .

Keep an eye on St Laurent. She is a very important part of this team.

Megan Russelo didn't play on Saturday due to the flu. She was back in the line-up on Sunday and looked pretty good. Knights were also missing Dru Austin from the line-up for both home openers. Nakamura & Brenning looked very strong. I agree the team needs to gel with all the new faces this season.

Tough weekend for the Knights against Sacred Heart Pioneers, with a 6-2 loss on Saturday and a 4-4 tie on Sunday.

Was anyone at the games to give us some commentary about the games?

Team in tough past weekend against Elmira.
Watched both games. Neumann held their own in first game Sat thanks mostly to the stellar perfomance of the goalie .
1-0 loss. Very respectable considering Knights took 7 penalties to Emira 1

Second game , 1st period ending 1-1 tie . Shots also even.
Neumann loses momentum because of continuous bad penalties being taken both games. They have to be more disciplined and stay out of the box if they are going to stay in games especially against the much faster teams .

Also they are going to need some more production out of the older girls. Since first 2 weekends most goals coming from freshman . Hang in there tough Knights !!! Lots of potential .

            GO KNIGHTS !!!
