Hockey rules and how they are enforced shape the game. Should college hockey rules and officiating standards encourage the "dump and chase"/"cycle the puck around the boards" style of play prevalent in the NHL, or should they encourage the open ice passing game of European and Olympic hockey? Deliberate decisions about rules and enforcement will determine the style of college hockey the athletes will get to play and the fans will get to watch.

According to Horace Greeley, the men's game should go west. He didn't say anything about women."Hope is a good thing; maybe the best of things."

"Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained him through temporary periods of joy." -- W. B. Yeats

I think we can all agree that it doesn't matter where this game goes as long as the destination has NACHOS.Originally posted by Greg Ambrose on 3/7/2010The fact that you BC fans revel in the superiority of your team in an admittedly weak league leads me to believe you will be more sorely disappointed when the end comes than we will.

It should go backwards. Back to 1986 when conference playoffs and NCAA regionals were campus sites, the Great Western Conference was in existence, Hockey East had just been formed, the ECAC had 17 teams, only eight teams made the NCAA tournament, chicken wire was still in use at some barns... you know, the "Good Old Days" of hockey.“Demolish the bridges behind you… then there is no choice but to build again.”
