2012 summer girls hockey college camps

Looking to send my daughter - a freshman in high school goalie - to several college camps this summer... other than checking every website (and finding out the camp info hasn't been posted or updated) how can I find a list of schools offering camps? Location not important. thanks

Most colleges/schools list on web site. I am most familiar with Providence College not sure of specific goalie program but they have developed a string of college greats between the pipes http://www.deraneyhockeyschools.com

Are you looking for her to get better or to get exposure? There is a difference based on the goal.

That's a tough one and maybe others have ideas. If she will graduate in 2015 from HS, I suggest Rinksport in Boston, MA. www.rinksport.com. There's only one goalie spot left so if you are interested you better hurry.

There are lots of training opportunities in Minnesota but I'm not aware of any week long camps. OS Hockey has a weekend prospects camp but I'm not sure of the age requirements and I don't think that they provide housing. www.oshockey.org

Most of the other programs in Minnesota go from 6 weeks to the entire summer. There was a week long camp in Grand Rapids, MN a few years ago. I'm not sure that they are offering it this year. It was sponsored by the same people that sponsored the Minnesota Crunch.

Totally agree. Many college camps are recruiting tools and really aren't great camps from a learning perspective (although you'll potentially play against strong kids depending on which college you're talking about).

rinksport is really great. 20 kids per team so you don't get so tired out there. And only
one sheet of ice so you don't get lost at the rink.

Is there an established summer team you can join? Enough parents and coaches to cobble one together? I believe many of the summer teams are very strong. They are usually made up of players that are more motivated, want to learn more, and typically higher skilled.

A camp or two can be good, if the camps specifically have goalie coaches and specific goalie time. They will all say they do but what do they really offer. Pay attention to actual on ice and off ice work out time. Picking up some of the usual hockey rags around your arena for lists of local and non-local camps. Seems almost every college offers some type of camp.
