Priceless (the thread creator) is taking a break from USCHO due to a personal attack in the cafe.. I think he deleted all his threads.

I was really curious too. Miami probably had one of the largest jumps!

IIRC we were just outside the Top 10, around #11 or #12 when he did it last (a year or two ago).

that is very true, but it should be noted that an extensive rennovation has been done to USBA since then and it's been under new rink managment so I doubt there be a repeat of those issues. Additionally, the entertainment options in the immediate arena area have been significantly improved. Be a much better fan experience

Along with the fact that they are actually accustomed to having hockey down there again. Not so much the case when we hosted the Frozen Four. Now if only they can improve Whiskey Bar....

Looks like we got another 1995 commit, Kiefer Sherwood. Not a ton of info on him online other than that he played RW for Ohio Blue Jackets U16 last year and posted a 27-23--50 line in 40GP. He was drafted in USHL 7th round (99th overall) by Youngstown Phantoms.

Another commit from a couple days ago.

Gordie Green, Compuware '97 (97?!) - 24gp 21-14--35 16 PIM

Gordie Green #9 Compuware Shoots: R Ann Arbor, MIAnalysis: Not often do you find natural scoring at such a young age, but star forward Gordie Green has been doing it for years, tallying at least 30 points in four of his last five seasons, including last year, where he totaled a career high 47 points in 30 games. Green added 15 more points in last year’s playoffs.

For anyone who hasn't been following too closely, Sean Kuraly has been putting together a fantastic week at the USWJ Camp. Through six days he has the squad lead for goals at six, and has chipped in three assists centering a top line/PP with incoming ND freshman Mario Lucia. Given his trajectory through the USHL, and now on the international stage, it would seem Sean is on pace for a special freshman campaign in Oxford.

As always, Chris Peters (unitedstatesofhockey.com) has provided fantastic coverage all week:

Sean Kuraly ó For the first two periods, I donít think there was any question Kuraly was the best forward on the ice. He was creating chances with his size and speed and showed really good hands. He set up Luciaís first goal by driving hard to the net and Lucia was able to drive home Kuralyís rebound. I knew Kuraly was a good forward, but he looked better than any previous viewing as heís put together a lot of his tools. His spot in camp is secure, and heís made a statement in Lake Placid that he belongs in Ufa.

Sean Kuraly Ė The campís leading goal scorer padded his lead with a fifth goal today. Coming into camp with relatively little international experience, Kuraly has thrived on the big sheet. His size and speed have overwhelmed some of his opponents and heís obviously showing good finish. It is abundantly clear that Kuraly has taken his game to a new level and should be poised for a big freshman campaign at Miami. Even though today was not his best game of camp (even with the goal), Kuraly is looking like a World Junior lock at the very early stage. If he can keep this up past this summer event, itís going to be good news for Team USA.

Sean Kuraly ó Kuralyís camp-best sixth goal was another pretty one. He hasnít had too many that werenít pretty. The way heís playing right now makes him look like a lock. Itís not because of the stats though. The single biggest asset Kuraly has is his speed. USA Hockey teams tend to play an up-tempo game. They always want to be the faster team and often can be. Combine that with Kuralyís 6-2, 200-pound frame and some really strong puck skills and youíve got a darn good hockey player. Itís important to keep in mind that dominant performances in August donít always translate in December, but it appears Kuraly has the right physical tools for this to translate later on.

Joyaux (the Younger) on opening day roster, no surprise there. I want to know when the guy below him is going to make a college announcement.

Heard he may play this year in the BCHL which is certainly a good league.

First of all, it's great to hear about the Wingels commit. A great family that loves Miami!

But on to more pressing matters...

We are 10 days away from the exhibition game, which means that it is about time to get the season thread (part I of many) up and running! Thread title suggestions?

Wow you guys are quiet.

Miami is 9th in both Preseason Polls. Can we drop the puck now?

Seems a tad high to me. Really surprised Western is #10 considering their success last year and what they return. I guess this is why there is a season. Looking forward to the season and getting to check out these freshman playing at the NCAA level for the first time.
